The product is small on purpose. You browse, you write a short note, you meet. No streaks, no nudges, no nothing. We hold still while you think.
Every therapist on acquaint has recorded a short video in their own voice. Swipe through them like people, not search results.
When someone feels right, we ask what made them feel like a good fit. Two or three sentences. They see it before you meet.
A free fifteen‑minute video call, or straight to a session. Either way, you've already met before the first session begins.
acquaint has no engagement loop. The product is judged successful when a person finds a therapist and leaves.
Most people meet three or four therapists before they decide. There's no countdown, no limited spots, no reason to hurry.
No. acquaint is the introduction layer. Therapy is what therapists do, in sessions, after you've decided who to work with. We make that first decision easier; we don't replace what happens after it.
Every therapist is registered with their relevant Australian body (AHPRA, ACA, AASW, or PACFA) and has been practising for at least three years. We verify registration directly. We do not vouch for fit; that part is yours to decide, and the videos are how.
You go back to the videos. Sometimes the first one isn't the right one, and we'd rather you know that early than ten sessions in. There is no penalty, no awkward email, no need to explain.
Browsing acquaint is free. Sessions are paid directly to the therapist at their own rate, typically AU$140 to AU$240. Where a Mental Health Care Plan applies, Medicare rebates are processed automatically.
